How will you be able to pay for veterinary fees (emergency or checkup) for your pigeon?

Can you ship?
Freckle’s Fellowship Pigeon Rescue can currently transport birds via courier to SA, NSW, QLD, and TAS for a fee of $100-$400. Formal quotes may be requested by approved adopters. We do not transport to NT, WA, or internationally.
I want to adopt but your policy states x, can you make an exception?
Our rules and policies around adoption are there to ensure our pigeons go to homes that are adequate and align with our values. As such, we do not make exceptions to these standards.
What does being an approved adopter mean/do?
An approved adopter is an individual who has submitted an application and meets all pre-adoption requirements. Approved adopters can visit birds for meet-and-greets/adoptions, request transport quotes, and view privately listed pigeons. If you are an approved adopter, you do not have to adopt immediately.
How much does it cost to keep a pigeon?
We have created a rough price tally to help inform prospective adopters. Whilst this is tailored to the costs of setting up for a pigeon indoors, majority of it can be applicable to aviary owners.
I haven’t received a response for my application, am I declined?
Application response time varies based on how busy we are. This means it may take a while for your application to be reviewed. We do respond to every application. If you want to check in on the status of your application, please contact adoptions@frecklesfellowship.org
